Croissants Bistro & Bakery: Best In Myrtle Beach

By Alex Eline - 12/22/2016

Croissants Bistro & Bakery

My fiancé, Blake, and I had breakfast at Croissants Bistro & Bakery while on a press trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This was our favorite meal of the trip! Both our food and service were wonderful and if we find ourselves in Myrtle Beach again, we will definitely be stopping by.

The Restaurant

Croissants Bistro & Bakery has been in business for 21 years now, opening in 1995. With the mission “To make memories with family and friends through our passion for Southern Hospitality and food,” it is no wonder why it is a favorite of both Myrtle Beach locals and visitors. It is also worth noting that Croissants Bistro & Bakery uses fresh, local ingredients. Colorful walls and cute paintings decorate the restaurant. Croissants’ Bistro menu includes omelettes, crepes, benedicts, shrimp and grits, and more Southern staples, while the Bakery sells homemade cakes, pastries, breads, macarons, and other delicious looking desserts. They also cater and make wedding cakes.

Our Food

Blake and I were sent over two pastries to try while we were waiting on our breakfast. One was an Almond Croissant that was surprisingly sweet and the other was a Pumpkin Danish, which was my favorite. Both came served on what looked like mini cutting boards and the plating was lovely.

I chose the Pennsylvania Dutch Chocolate Chip Pancakes, served with warm syrup, butter, and bacon. I am still dreaming about those pancakes! They were absolutely delicious and my bacon was crispy, just the way I like it. Blake opted for the Bananas Foster French Toast (Challah Bread, Bruleed Banana, and Rum Syrup) and he raved about it. He added homemade whipped cream to the top and it put all other whipped creams to shame. It tasted almost like ice cream and was an excellent addition to his meal.

Heidi Vukov

We had the pleasure of meeting Heidi, the owner of Croissants Bistro & Bakery, during our visit. She was the perfect host, making Blake and I feel right at home with her Southern Hospitality. In fact, she was the most welcoming host that Blake and I have ever had. Heidi even gave us an adorable gift bag when we left (those macarons were awesome!). You can tell that she is passionate about her business and loves what she does. Heidi has also published a cookbook combining Southern and French cooking, “Bonjour Y’all.” There is good news for fans of Croissants Bistro & Bakery… they are expanding! Heidi’s Corner will be located at the corner of 82nd Avenue North and Kings Highway. It will house a second Croissants Bistro & Bakery as well as a new concept restaurant by Heidi, Hook & Barrell. I am sure that it will be just as impressive.

Without hesitation, I give Croissants Bistro & Bakery a 10/10. Although our food was outstanding, the warm hospitality by the whole staff made this restaurant the best! If you are in the Myrtle Beach Area, I cannot recommend dining here enough.
